The Levantine Basin Oil and Gas Reserves along the Israeli Coastline
Top energy industry experts, according to Israel Today, are convinced that the State of Israel will become the new home for the international “oil and gas rush” of the near future for large international Western energy development companies. Reporting from an recent interview of Fred Zeidman to the Israeli financial news paper, Globes, there has been a recent discovery of a massive natural gas field along the coastline of the State of Israel in the Western Mediterranean Sea.
This has caught attention of the large major energy companies in the west that today, in spite of a shaky global economy, are sitting upon large financial reserves that have inherited huge profits in the past two years because of the skyrocketing oil prices that hit $120 a barrel of oil in June, 2008.
Inflation Adjusted Monthly Crude Oil Prices
Today, the Israeli companies, Delek and Isramco have positioned themselves well in this erupting marketplace for they have already tapped into this natural gas field, along with the British energy giant, Nobel Energy. As Fred Zeidman observed, “As soon as Noble goes to a place, many other companies follow in its wake."
According to Houston energy experts reporting on Oil and Gas Journal state that the Levant Basin gas reserves in the Western Mediterranean is estimated to hold largest natural gas resource ever discovered with an estimated 122 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas and at least 1.7 billion barrels of recoverable oil. According to the USGS Energy Resources Program Coordinator Brenda Pierce, the “Levant’s gas resource is larger than anything the survey has assessed in the US.”
The energy experts today are comparing the Levant Basin Oil and Gas Reserves of an estimated 122 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas to the following large basin giant in the world today. They include in the world market:
· Russia’s West Siberian basin resource is estimated at 643 tcf.
· Middle East Rub Al Khali basin has 426 tcf,
· Greater Ghawar uplift 227 tcf,
· Zagros fold belt 212 tcf.
At the same time, the Levant Basin reserves of 122 tcf are compared to the United States basin reserves as follows:
· Southwestern Wyoming Province has 85 tcf,
· National Petroleum Reserve Alaska Province 73 tcf,
· Appalachian Basin Province at 70 tcf,
· Western Gulf Basin Province of Texas and Louisiana also at 70 tcf of natural gas reserves.
Is it not incredible that the G-d of Israel is preparing the Land of Israel to become energy independent just in time when the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel return home and as the State of Israel becomes a Torah observant Greater Israel and the future Capital of the Global Empire of the Messiah son of David?
